Fear makes us forget what's true.
Fear is a normal human experience. We all feel it at times. Sometimes it paralyzes us. Sometimes it infuriates us. Sometimes it makes us “take to the bed.” But no matter how it manifests itself, this truth remains: fear is not our inheritance in Christ.
When we pick up the story in Judges 6, we meet Gideon hiding in fear, questioning the character and plan of God. But God remained patient and faithful. In spite of Gideon’s fear, God calls and empowers him to bravely obey even in the face of real enemies.
As we walk through Gideon’s story, we’ll take an honest look at our own fears, explore what God says about fear, and then learn how to kick fear in the face. Because that’s the energy we need for this war against fear.

Jesus died on a cross, rose from the dead, defeated the final enemy of man (a.k.a. death), ascended to heaven, and then sent the Holy Spirit to indwell God’s children. He didn’t do allllllll of that for us to live out our short days crumbling under the weight of fear. He did all of that to free and empower us, that we might live boldly and bravely on this Earth… even in the face of some fear-inducing situations.
So say it with me, “Fear don’t belong here.”

Meet the Illustrator
I’m partnering with the extremely talented artist, Hailey Smith, to create a beautiful (and powerful) illustrated children’s book. In this story, Deon discovers that God’s love is bigger than fear. We can’t wait to share this part of the project with you!
